The infrastructure of “Il Sambuco” B&B is part of a renaissance palace where architectonic remains can be found in the form of windows, doors and other decorations within the near apartments. Standing on the top of the S. Pellegrino district the building dominated ancient Tuscania likewise a small fortress, surrounded by gardens and open spaces; a quiet and reserved place where up until today the unique acoustic frame is formed only by the resident’s vociferating and the swallow’s singing.
Via Delle Sambucare is an ancient road of the artisanal medieval district of Tuscania, that was developed in the XII century with the expansion of the residential area towards the S.Paolo monastery; the road is now situated between Via del Monastero (North) and Via Valle dell’Oro (South).
The road’s name is probably due to the presence of Elder trees (Sambuco) in that zone, as many as to establish in the past an “Elder zone” (Sambucara)
